PUBG Report
What is PUBG? PUBG, also known as Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, is an online multiplayer Battle Royale game. It is based on previous mods created by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene and was inspired by the 2000 Japanese film Battle Royale.
The game consists of up to a hundred players parachuting onto an island, left to scavenge for weapons and various equipments to kill others while avoiding killing themselves.
With time, the safe area in the game’s map decreases in size, which directs the surviving players into tighter areas to force them to encounter each other. The last player standing wins the round.
It was initially released for Microsoft Windows via Stream’s early access Beta program. Furthermore, the game was also released by Microsoft Studios for Xbox One via its Xbox Game Preview program that same month.
How Does PUBG Work?
It is a player vs. player shooter game where up to a hundred of them fight in a Battle Royale. They can choose to enter the match either solo, duo, or with a group of up to four people.
Each match begins with players parachuting from planes onto one of the four given maps. The plane’s flight path across the map varies with each round and requires them to quickly determine the best time to eject the parachute onto the ground.
Players initially start with no gear on them but can search through buildings, ghost towns, and other sites to find weapons, armor, and other equipment to help them through the gameplay.
Items are present throughout the map, and the best ones are in high-risk zones. Players that have been killed can be looted to acquire their gear as well.
You can opt to play either from a first-person or third-person perspective. Each has its advantages and disadvantages in combat and situational awareness.
The map’s playable area begins to shrink down every few minutes towards a random location. Those who are outside the safe zones take the damage. Then, they are eliminated if they do not enter these areas within the time limit.
After each round, players gain in-game currency based on how they performed. That can be used to purchase crates containing cosmetic items for character or weapon customization.
