The Legends Of Wrestling is a series of WWE games that first came into the market in 2001 for the PlayStation 2. Later, it was also released for Xbox and Gameboy in 2002. The next 2 titles are Legends of Wrestling 2 and Shadow: Legends Of Wrestling.
The Legends Of Wrestling features 40 of WWE’s (formerly WWF) superstars. These include Bret Hart, Rob Van Dam, The Road Warriors, and Hulk Hogan. The game provides a match analysis in detail. Once you select the career mode, you can seek career help from wrestling managers, such as Captain Lou Albano and Jimmy Hart.
If you want to get into action right away, you can start playing the game by selecting the exhibition match. These are available in various types. For instance, you can choose among the Tag Team Challenge, Three-Way Dance, Four-Way Dance, and special guest referees.
The Legends Of Wrestling brings most of the popular wrestlers from the 1980s into the game. At the start of each match, you will witness grand entrances. It is straightforward to add a character before start playing. It gives gamers a fun experience.
The Legends Of Wrestling received generally positive reviews on its release. Also, the characters are closer to real-life in appearance and the gameplay is fluid. The wrestlers have a wide range of moves similar to their in-ring performance.
On the other hand, some critics also trolled the Legends Of Wrestling. For instance, some gamers don’t like the fact that it takes a pause after you push a button to pull a move. Similarly, if you press the button in succession to perform a series of moves, you might have to wait for a few seconds before the game executes them.
Legends Of Wrestling 2
Legends Of Wrestling 2 is the sequel to the original game that was released in late 2002. The title added 25 new wrestlers in addition to the 40 in the previous one. However, it omitted Rob Van Dam possibly because of the end of his contract with the WWE.
The most notable inclusion was that of Eddie Guerrero. He was not a part of the company at the time but was in a contract when the game came out in the market.
Legends Of Wrestling 2 includes ‘Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, and Sid Vicious. They became a part of the game after WWE acquired the WCW.
It features new types of matches that were not available in the first game. For instance, players can now select 6-man Elimination round, Ladder, Cage, and Battle Royal matches, among others. The game also includes the create-a-legend feature that offers the chance to develop a custom superstar.

Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling
Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling is the third and last game in the series. It was released for the Play Station 2 and Xbox platforms in 2004. There were plans to release the Gameboy version but it never came into the market.
The game features more than 70 of the most popular superstars including the Ultimate Warrior in the available wrestling characters. On the other hand, it excluded some of them like Mike and David Von Erich. You can learn from the tutorials that are narrated by Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart.
A key highlight of Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling is the music that was partially composed by Bret Hart. Also, the theme music came into being thanks to the input of ‘The Mouth Of The South’ Jimmy Hart.
The game offers One-On-One, Hardcore, Tag Team, and other types of matches. A new addition is the Classic Match that pits your character against the wrestlers of old times. Moreover, you can use the Create-A-Legend feature to develop a new superstar.
